Nach dem erfolgreichen Album Select gab es zur Tournee 1982 die Single “Child Come Away”, welche auf keinem Album enthalten ist. 1983 produzierte man das dritte Studioalbum Catch As Catch Can. Von den Musikkritikern wurde dieses Album richtig gelobt aber kommerziell verkaufte sich die LP nicht annähernd so gut wie ihre beiden Vorgänger. In England wurde Catch As Catch Can ein regelrechter Flop - nur Platz 90 und 1 Woche in den Charts. Die Vorabsingle “Love Blonde” konnte sich noch überall gut in den Charts platzieren, die zweite Single “Dancing In The Dark” aber entwickelte sich zu einem echten Flop. Der bevorstehende Wechsel von RAK Records zu einem neuen Plattenlabel bescherte uns mit “House Of Salome” in Europe ohne England noch eine weitere Single aus Catch As Catch Can.

Catch As Catch Can ist neben Europa noch in Süd-Afrika, Japan, Mexico und Teilen Süd-Amerikas als Schallplatte erschienen. Nach der Markteinführung des neuen Formats Compact Disc erschien Catch As Catch Can nur in Japan als reguläre CD. Da das Album im Gegensatz zu “Kim Wilde” und “Select” später nicht wieder aufgelegt wurde, ist die japanische CD zur meistgesuchtesten Kim Wilde CD geworden - zumindest bis 1995 die 3-CD Box “The Originals” veröffentlicht wurde.

After the successful album “Select” the non-album track “Child come Away” was released before the 1982 tour. In 1983 the third studio album Catch As Catch Can was produced and released. With best critics in the music press this album did not sell well commercially. In England this Album was a flop - only 1 week in charts on number 90. The pre-released single “Love Blonde” did well in the charts but the second single “Dancing In The Dark” flopped. Catch As Catch Can was the last studio album released under RAK Records. Due to the coming change from RAK Records to a new record label “House Of Salome” was antoher song released on single in Europe except UK.

Catch As Catch Can was released in Europe, Australia, Japan, Mexico and part of South-America on vinyl record. With the commercially sale of the new format compact disc Catch As Catch Can was released in Japan on CD. This album was not re-released on CD after like “Kim Wilde” in 1988 and “Select” in 1990 so this CD became the most wanted items for Kim Wilde collecter for years. In 1995 Catch As Catch Can was part of the 3-CD box and now available in Europe.
