Diese Compilation ist quasi die Wiederauflage von “The Very Best Of” aus dem Jahr 1984. Als Kaufanreiz  packte man aber zusätzlich noch bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks wie “Watching For Shapes” (B-Seite von “Cambodia”) und die Maxi-Versionen von “Dancing in The Dark” und “Love Blonde”als Bonustitel auf die CD mit drauf.

Durch die EMI-Veröffentlichung von Love Blonde (The Best Of) wurde der geplante Veröffentlichungstermin von “The Singles Collection 1981-1993” von Frühjahr auf Herbst 1993 verschoben.

Love Blonde (The Best Of) ist die bislang einzige reine Compilation CD, für deren Vermarktung eine Promo CD angefertigt wurde. “Cambodia/Love Blonde” ist mittlerweile auch ein gesuchtes Sammlerobjekt.

This compilation is a re-release of 1984  “The Very Best Of”. Three previously unreleased tracks were included on cd only as bonus tracks. “Watching For Shapes” (b-side of “Cambodia”) and the extended versions of “Dancing In The Dark” and “Love Blonde”.

Due to the EMI release of Love Blonde (The Best Of) MCA decided to shift the release date for “The Singles Collection 1981-1993) from spring to autumn 1993.

Love Blonde (The Best Of) is the only compilation so far which has a promo cd for promotion. “Cambodia/Love Blonde” is now a high collectible item and hard to get.
