In summer 1984 Kim left RAK Records (EMI) and signed to a the record label MCA. With many promotion and the ambiguous title, the pre-release single was quite successful in serveral countries. It was designed to re-establish Kim Wilde as a pop-singer for “the second time”.
One reason for the success was the video for the single. And “Lovers On A Beach” on the b-side was a non-album track - for first time ever is an exteded version for the b-side on the 12” vinyl. In England there was a limited picture disc edition sold.
The Second Time was also released in USA & Canada around end 84/85. However the title was changed to Go For It instead of The Second Time. The single climbed the US Billboardcharts up to no. 65. A limited edition foldout postersleeve was available for the 7”single. The mixes on the 12” were not available in Europe with one exeption. Later the U.S.Remix of The Second Time was available on the “Rage To Love” 12”, this Remix is a re-edited and shorter version of the U.S. Extended Dance Mix. |
